Kat is a writer, keynote speaker, and professional recruiting contrarian who has spent fifteen years challenging the way hiring has always been done by figuring out what actually works.

They run Three Ears Media (named after their dogs), where they teach recruiting teams to write job postings for people rather than about work, swapping the usual buzzwords for language a person might actually say out loud. Before that they were a CMO, technical copywriter, and managing editor at Monster, Care.com, and Randstad Worldwide, which bought them a front-row seat to every bad job post ever written.

Now they speak on stages around the world and turn up as a recruiting expert in the New York Times, NPR, and Forbes, with a spot on LinkedIn's Top Voices list to go with it. They've written two books: This Was All An Accident, a set of letters about work, life, and a year spent in a van, and The Bounce Back Factor, on building resilience when everything shifts overnight. Both carry the same line they take everywhere: honesty beats polish, and most hiring advice stopped being true a decade ago.
